Dmytro Tavanets graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine (Professor Vsevolod Vorobyov). He has worked with the National Ensemble of Soloists Kyiv Camerata since 1999. He is a founding member of the Kyiv Piano Duo.  

Dmytro has collaborated as a soloist with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra (conductor Jacek Kaspszyk) and the NOSPR Symphony Orchestra. He took part in festivals Warsaw Autumn, New Music Marathon (Prague), Kyiv Music Fest, Two Days and Two Nights of New Music (Odesa), 1st Festival of Modern Music (Yerevan), Days of Ukrainian Culture in Germany (Berlin), and others. 

As part of the Kyiv Piano Duo, Dmytro Tavanets has given concerts in Ukraine, Denmark, France, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Italy. He took part in Tavaszi Festival (Budapest), Virtuosos Festival (Lviv), Copenhagen Summer Festival, Schubertiade (Roskilde, Denmark), Ohrid Summer Festival (Macedonia), Beszady bez granic (Sanok, Poland), Ventimiglia International Piano Festival (Italy), Musical Season Premieres (Kyiv), Kyiv Music Fest, W Live (Lviv–Paris), Days of Ukrainian Music in Warsaw, Perugia Music Fest (Italy).
