Andrii Pavlov

Ukrainian violinist Andrii Pavlov was born in Kyiv in a family of musicians. He made his first steps in violin studies under the guidance of his mother, Viktoriia Pavlova. Andrii then studied at the Reinhold Glière Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music and the National Music Academy of Ukraine with Professor Vadym Kozin. Classes with Gyorgy Pauk, Andrej Bielow, Philip Setzer, Marc Danel, Johannes Meissl, and Hatto Beyerle significantly influenced his development.
As a soloist Andrii performed with ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Tbilisi State Opera Chamber Orchestra, Kyiv Soloists National Chamber Ensemble, Lviv Philharmonic, New Era Orchestra, Radio Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Dnipro Philharmonic, Lviv Virtuosos, and others. Pavlov has played at the Radiokulturhaus in Vienna, UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, Yehudi Menuhin Forum Bern, Kyiv Philharmonic, Odesa Philharmonic, Lviv Philharmonic, and other venues. His concert geography includes Lugano International Music Festival, Septembre Musical (Montreux-Vevey), MonteLeon Сhamber Music Festival, and concerts in Italy, the UK, France, Lithuania, Poland, and Georgia.
In the field of contemporary music, Andrii performed at Klangwerkstatt Berlin, Tage der Neue Musik Bamberg, Musikprotokoll Graz, Mishima Contemporary Music Days (Japan), New Music Touchpoints (Portugal), Poznanska Wiosna Muzyczna (Poland), KyivMusicFest, Contrasts (Ukraine), and collaborated with leading Ukrainian new music ensembles: Ensemble Nostri Temporis, Sed Contra Ensemble, and Danapris Quartet.
Andrii Pavlov’s long-term duo partner is pianist Valeriia Shulga. Their Duo Sonoro is a prizewinner of chamber music competitions such as Brahms (Pörtschach), Salieri-Zinetti, and Tallinn and has a wide repertoire from the classical period to contemporary works.
Andrii is a member of NotaBene Chamber Group and has a teaching position at Reinhold Glière Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music in Kyiv.
