Viktoriia Vitrenko
Viktoriia Vitrenko is a versatile Ukrainian soprano, conductor, and artistic director.
As a conductor, she has led orchestras such as the Haydn Orchestra of Bozen and Triest, the Münchner Symphoniker, the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Ensemble for New Music, the Divertimento Ensemble (Milan), the Audite Nova (Heidenheim), the Pforzheim Philharmonic Orchestra, the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, and the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a choral conductor, she won 1st prize and the diploma for "Best Performance" at the Ohrid Choral Festival (Macedonia) as well as 3rd prize and the audience prize at the Florilège vocal de Tours (France) with the Making Waves vocal ensemble (Ukraine). From 2014–2016 she was a fellow of the DIRIGENTENFORUM, a project of the German Music Council. She conducted the NDR Rundfunkchor, the Kammerchor Saar, and the Berliner Rundfunkchor, among others. Notably, she conducted the rehearsals with the German Chamber Choir for the Donaueschingen Music Days (2019, conductor Tito Ceccherini) and took over the choir conducting during the opera production Alice in Wonderland by Johannes Harneit at the Staatstheater Stuttgart (2015–2016, conductor Stefan Schreiber).
As an independent artist, Viktoriia Vitrenko was artist-in-residence at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris in 2021, followed by a residency at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart (2023/24).
She studied choral conducting with Viktor Petrychenko and Denis Rouger and orchestral conducting with Richard Wien at the National Music Academy of Ukraine and the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart.
