Sergii Leontiev
Sergii Leontiev (PhD) is a Ukrainian award-winning composer, who successfully works as a film composer, arranger, orchestrator, and music producer. He is a member of the National Composers' Union of Ukraine (2017) and the Ukrainian Association of Electroacoustic Music (2016).
In 2015, Sergii received an MA in Composition (composition Prof. Igor Shcherbakov, orchestration Prof. Lesya Dychko), and in 2018 completed postgraduate study at the Music Theory Department (scientific advisor, Prof. Mykola Kovalinas) at the National Music Academy of Ukraine. In 2016, Sergii studied at the Karol Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice (Poland) (advisor Prof. Marek Toporowski).
Leontiev scored music for numerous feature, documentary, and animated films. He authored a PhD thesis and several research articles about music composition in feature films. He studied film scoring with award-winning composers Igor Stetsyuk, Alla Zagaykevych, Richard Bellis, Evan Evans, and Michael Price; and attended master classes with Alexandre Desplat, Danny Elfman, Harry Gregson-Williams, and John Powell.
Sergii’s music reflects various genres: chamber and symphonic works, choral miniatures, electroacoustic music, and pop music. His works have been performed in the USA, Canada, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, China, and Ukraine; in the programs of festivals Musicacoustica-Bejing (China), Kyiv Music Fest (Ukraine), Music Premieres of the Season (Kyiv, Ukraine), EM-Visia (Kyiv, Ukraine), Two Days and Two Nights of New Music (Odesa, Ukraine), Book Arsenal (Kyiv, Ukraine), Mute Nights (Odesa, Ukraine), and others. His music sounds on the TV, over the radio, in concert halls by the National Symphonic Orchestra of Ukraine, National Chamber Ensemble Kyiv Soloists, National Ensemble of Soloists Kyiv Camerata, Kyiv Chamber Orchestra, Lviv Virtuosos Chamber Orchestra, Kyiv Symphony Orchestra, Cherkasy Symphony Orchestra, Khreschatyk Academic Chamber Choir, Sed Contra Ensemble, and others.

2022 — Winner of the ICM-2022 Composition Competition.
2019 — Levko Revutskyi Prize of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine for Film Scores and Symphonic Music.
2018, 2019 — Scholarship of the President of Ukraine for Young Artists.
2018 — Winner of the Envision Sound Program contest by the British Council and Dovzhenko-Center.
2016 — Scholarship “Gaude Polonia” by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
2013 — Composer-in-residence at Druskininkai Artists Residence by the Lithuanian Composers' Union.
