Dmytro Radzetskyi
Dmytro Radzetskyi is a Ukrainian guitarist and composer. He is the creator of unique 8- and 10-string MIDI Radz-guitars that combine classical guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, and synthesizer. Radzetskyi is the founder, director, and conductor of the Ukrainian Improvisers Orchestra which performs contemporary classical music, avant-garde, free improvisation, and free jazz.
Dmytro has given concerts and participated in festivals of contemporary, experimental, jazz and rock music at many venues across Ukraine, Poland, Germany, France, USA, Israel, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Netherlands.
Dmytro Radzetskyi’s works include chamber, orchestral, electroacoustic, rock compositions, soundtracks for short films, radio and TV programs, and arrangements for folk-instrument orchestras. His pieces have been performed at international festivals, competitions, and concerts across Europe. As a classical guitar soloist, Radzetskyi performs original music as well as works by contemporary classical composers, both Ukrainian and international.
Radzetskyi has collaborated with acclaimed musicians such as Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter (King Crimson), Phil Minton, Fred Lonberg-Holm, Ed Mann and Denny Walley (Frank Zappa Band), Bang on a can All-Stars, Fried Dahn (Ensemble Modern), Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music, Pink Floyd), Steve Hackett (Genesis), and Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Steven Wilson).
Together with the composer Maxim Kolomiiets, Dmytro Radzetskyi co-founded the KORA duo and art cube based at the Dovzhenko-Center in Kyiv. From 2017 onwards the creative space has facilitated educational activities and hosted concerts of contemporary classical, jazz, rock, and electronic music, as well as a series of streams “Kora Late Night Show.”
