Daily, from 11 to 22 June, “new music : touchpoints” — an international contemporary classical music festival — will take place in Lisboa Incomum (General Leman 20, Lisbon), within the framework of which 12 concerts, 10 lectures and 5 days of master classes will be held with the participation of 29 musicians from 16 countries.

“new music : touchpoints” is organized by the teams of two institutions, one of which is the Portuguese Dias de música electroacústica, the other is the Ukrainian Kyiv Contemporary Music Days. The festival is supported by Culture Bridges program.

The festival will feature composers of the XX and XXI centuries — both widely recognized and young, both Portuguese, Ukrainian and worldwide: Hans Tutschku (Germany)*, Jaime Reis (Portugal)*, Karlheinz Stockhausen (Germany), Olivier Messiaen (France), Luciano Berio (Italy), Gyorgy Ligeti (Hungary), Valentin Silvestrov (Ukraine), Vitaly Godzyatskii (Ukraine), Helmut Lachenmann (Germany), Salvatore Sciarrino (Italy), João Pedro Oliveira (Portugal)* and others.

During the festival “new music : touchpoints”, a number of world’s most outstanding musicians in the field of contemporary music will gather in Lisbon. Among them are:

  • German composer Hans Tutchku (professor and director of the HUSEAC at Harvard University)
  • German clarinetist Nina Janssen-Deinzer — soloist of the legendary Ensemble Modern (2006-2017), one of the most outstanding clarinetists in modern Europe; has recordings in such labels as Deutscher Musikrat, NEOS, Ensemble Modern Medien, Südwestrundfunk, Wergo Music, Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung etc.
  • Portuguese composer Jaime Reis (professor for composition at the Superior School of Applied Arts (ESART), DME festival and Lisboa Incomum founder) 
  • Ukrainian pianist Antonyi Baryshevskii — soloist of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, winner of a number of international competitions, including the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition, Tel Aviv, Israel); has recordings in such labels as Avi-Music, Naxos, and Carus.
  • Ukrainian new music quartet Danapris String Quartet
